Combat guide: dodges, Falter and a reliable attack loop
Read the attack, make a safe response, and identify why that response failed. A missed dodge, a poor approach angle and insufficient progression call for different changes.

Start with the enemy's animation
Remedy describes the melee combat around reading animations, staggers, status effects and dodges. Use an early retry to watch the first dangerous attack rather than commit to your longest combo immediately.
Field-guide exercise: allow one wind-up to begin, move, and observe where the attack ends. On the next attempt, answer with a short sequence. Extend it only after you can recover without being hit.

Damage and Falter are separate feedback
Falter is the enemy-posture break that opens an execution opportunity. If attacks reduce health but do not create the opening you want, look at Falter-related behavior instead of only the raw damage number.
The launch hotfix reduced the base health and Falter requirements of many enemies. Check that the update is installed before comparing your experience with an older video.

Connect the melee sequence to your ability use
Xbox Wire’s developer-presentation report describes melee attacks generating the resource for abilities, with stuns and executions feeding a temporary melee-damage boost. Try an attack chain, then spend the recovered Power on an ability; observe its Falter result before committing to the next long sequence.
GAMES.GG’s launch guide reports that Secondary attacks and Combo Finishers recover more Power than repeated Primary attacks. Use that as a sequence to test in a familiar encounter, rather than only waiting for recovery. If you cannot finish the chain safely, shorten it or widen your dodge window first.
The resource sequence comes from a developer presentation and an attributed launch guide. Recovery amounts, execution thresholds and buff duration are not quantified here.

Match the change to the failure
| What you observe | Test next |
|---|---|
| Hit during a long attack sequence | Shorten the response and leave time to dodge. |
| Misses or awkward approach | Test another form and positioning; inspect melee assistance. |
| Resource shortage during combat | Review ability use and Power Recovery Speed in Assist Mode. |
| Very slow progress despite clean responses | Inspect all progression tracks, then compare a retry. |
| Cannot read a fast tell | Try a wider Perfect Dodge Window or slower projectiles. |
These are suggested controlled tests, not claims about a universally strongest build.

Preparing for a Resonant
Resonants reward new combat abilities. Before a boss attempt, identify the attack you are learning and the role of each equipped form. After unlocking an ability, inspect what it changes before treating your old loadout as final.
This guide stays spoiler-light and does not invent boss-specific phase timings or damage thresholds.
